What is a Divorce Financial Neutral and why do you need one for your divorce?

As a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst, Nicole Rogers has an educational background in accounting from Kennesaw State University and has over 20 years experience as a paralegal.  She went through an intensive training program to become skilled in analyzing and providing expertise related to the financial issues of divorce and obtain her CDFA®.

In addition, Nicole went through mediation training and is a Certified Mediator with the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution.  The combination of education, experience and training make Nicole Rogers an effective Divorce Financial Neutral where she acts as a financial analyst in respect to settling the financial issues when parties divorce and she can work with both individuals as a mediator so that the individuals can stay in control of their divorce and the outcome of the divorce.  

As a CDFA® and Neutral, Nicole Rogers will assist in the following ways:

  • Prepare a marital balance sheet and financial affidavit (budget) to use during negotiations.

  • Identifying the short-term and long-term effects of dividing property.

The Certified Divorce Financial Analyst® also:

  • Provides the client and lawyer with data that shows the financial effect of any given divorce settlement.

  • Appears as an expert witness if the case should go to court, or in mediation or arbitration proceedings.

  • Is familiar with tax issues that apply to divorce.

  • Has background knowledge of the legal issues in divorce.

  • Is trained to interview clients so as to:

  • Collect financial and expense data.

  • Help client’s identify their future financial goals.

  • Develop a budget.

  • Set retirement objectives.

  • Determine how much risk they are willing to take with their investments.

  • Identify what kind of life style they want.

  • Determine the costs of their children’s education
